Yikes, check out that subject line 😳 What’s your reaction when you see emails like that in your inbox, Reader? Are you super excited to open them? Or have you noticed they’re starting to seem like they’re filled with… 🙄Hefty promises (like, are you *really* going to knock my socks off?) 🙄Wild stats that hardly seem attainable. 🙄Tips that are a bit far fetched and unreasonable. Basically, they end up being emails that make you question: Wait, did I actually sign up for this person’s content? Sometimes it feels like our valuable inbox space is crowded with tips, tricks, and actionable steps you can try today to 10000X your revenue! And the things that are supposed to be appealing to us begin to come off as pushing a little toooo hard. But I mean, it makes sense. We’re often told that when we’re going to show up in someone’s inbox, we need to constantly be giving value. Value VALUE VAAAALUUUUEEE!!!! And after a while, I think some people A) take that a little bit too literally and B) are very close minded when it comes to what “value” can look like Which just leads to us receiving a crap ton of emails with subject lines that make us want to cringe instead of eagerly opening them, ready for the tactics we’ve been promised. So Reader, today I want to challenge you to reconsider what “adding value” actually looks like. Because there are ways to do that without coming across as an old-school, click-baity marketer… And let’s be honest, trying to come up with these more “expected” actionable takeaways in each weekly (sometimes more frequent) email is just exhausting. The good news? While many people are still sending emails that are starting to make us roll our eyes… You’re in a position to stand out. Your emails are going to be packed with TRUE value that will help you build trust, create genuine connections, and create a stronger sense of community between you and your audience. And while I’m not promising you’ll knock anyone’s socks off here (that was just an example, heh) …I DO have 10 of something else for you: a new blog post filled with lesser-known approaches to add value to your emails. If one of them just happens to knock your socks off though, I’ll take that as a bonus win 😉 Jess PS - I’ve read over this email a million times to be sure it all makes sense but Covid has brought my brain power down to a consistent “low battery” mode and everything is just blurring together 😅 |

I think a little woo is healthy, Reader. Just because something can’t be 100% proven doesn’t mean it’s not real. (I mean, c’mon, do we really think that we, as humans, have a concrete understanding of this entire universe??? 🙄) But believing in omnipotent forces, energy, manifestation… any of that kind of stuff, can be a great source of inspiration for self-reflection and growth. That’s exactly why I got a new oracle deck not too long ago. Are the cards I pull meant to be? Were my hands...
How often do you find yourself unable to focus, Reader? (I swear, if you’re thinking uuum, never? …well, consider yourself lucky. And I’m jealous.) Maybe it’s the stretch of hot weather. Or the extra work I took on. Or the yoga biz I’ve been pouring more energy into. …Or a combo: all of the above plus factors I haven’t even identified yet 😅 Life just feels hard right now. It’s making me feel Stir crazy Overwhelmed A bit frazzled even And I find that I’ve had to be more intentional about how I...
Reader, I know I’ve been on an anti niche, pro vision kick lately but… I swear on everything that I love: When you take this whole “following a vision” thing seriously, AMAZING stuff starts to fall into place. If you peeped my last email, there was a WHOLE lot of talk about how my vision, my purpose, is to feel deeply connected and help others feel it too… No matter how I get them there. Could be copywriting.Could be yoga.Could be… both? At the same time? 🤔 Yes, yes it could be. I recently...
