Oops, I became THAT person 😬

You know those people who always give the BEST advice but then don’t follow it themselves?

I became that person, Reader. šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

And not only did I become that person, I got called out on it too.

Thankfully, one of my closest friends was the bearer of bad news…

So it was kind of nice to have her shake me a bit and give me the ol’ kick in the ass.

Figuratively, of course.

But what actually led to this moment?

The 4th of July.

See, I was about to put myself into overdrive last week to prepare for THIS week.

With two days off due to the holiday, I’d have to do double the work within a single week.

Which meant… late nights, poor sleep, and not much no time to rest.

But it was all in the name of keeping to the consistent schedule I committed to, so it was okay! Right?

Nope. Wrong.

I think it’s easy to get into the habit of working through any of that ā€œfreeā€ time we might have.

As an entrepreneur, you have to rely on just YOU to get everything done…

So how on earth can you justify wasting that precious time??

But here’s my question for you:

When you’re given the opportunity to take a break, do you…

Actually take that well-deserved time and do something for YOU?

Or do you drill down and go balls to the wall (yea, I know that’s not PC but šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø) like you have to make up for lost time?

I almost did that second one.

Not allowing myself to take a damn break and telling myself I just had too much to do.

Until my friend popped in and was basically like…

Uuuummmm… remember that blog post you wrote a couple months ago? It was a really meaningful post… and I think you need to actually follow your own advice.

She was right.

But hey, do you remember that blog post, Reader?

That’s a trick question. I didn’t actually link it to an email šŸ˜…

Why?

It was different from my normal posts.

I wasn’t sure if you would find it as useful or valuable as the ones I usually write. I guess I was hesitant to talk about it.

So while I didn’t write a new post this week…

I’m finally sharing this one with you.

And even though it’s not technically new, it’s likely new to YOU.

I hope you find it as meaningful as my friend did (who also reads my emails, so… thank you šŸ’œ)

Jess

PS - I’m considering switching things up a bit regarding my blog posts and I’d love to know your thoughts.

I’ll likely be sending a SUPER SHORT survey at some point in the coming weeks (short like, 1 question with 3 possible answers short lol)… so keep an eye out for that!

I think a little woo is healthy, Reader. Just because something can’t be 100% proven doesn’t mean it’s not real. (I mean, c’mon, do we really think that we, as humans, have a concrete understanding of this entire universe??? šŸ™„) But believing in omnipotent forces, energy, manifestation… any of that kind of stuff, can be a great source of inspiration for self-reflection and growth. That’s exactly why I got a new oracle deck not too long ago. Are the cards I pull meant to be? Were my hands...

How often do you find yourself unable to focus, Reader? (I swear, if you’re thinking uuum, never? …well, consider yourself lucky. And I’m jealous.) Maybe it’s the stretch of hot weather. Or the extra work I took on. Or the yoga biz I’ve been pouring more energy into. …Or a combo: all of the above plus factors I haven’t even identified yet šŸ˜… Life just feels hard right now. It’s making me feel Stir crazy Overwhelmed A bit frazzled even And I find that I’ve had to be more intentional about how I...

Reader, I know I’ve been on an anti niche, pro vision kick lately but… I swear on everything that I love: When you take this whole ā€œfollowing a visionā€ thing seriously, AMAZING stuff starts to fall into place. If you peeped my last email, there was a WHOLE lot of talk about how my vision, my purpose, is to feel deeply connected and help others feel it too… No matter how I get them there. Could be copywriting.Could be yoga.Could be… both? At the same time? šŸ¤” Yes, yes it could be. I recently...
